Circle Piece Nickel began this piece with a found 24-inch diameter plywood disk. He ripped it on the table saw into one-inch parallel slats, then extended the pieces regularly in place, much like one would spread a deck of cards on a table. He numbered the pieces across the diameter of the disk before making his cuts, so the numbers form an arcing line across the piece as it is displayed on the wall. |
